Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team split two games with WKU today at Lamson Park as they opened up Sun Belt Conference play. The two games were vastly different. Game 1 was completely dominated by the Cajuns, with the Lady Toppers returning the favor in Game 2.

Jordan Wallace improved to 9-3 on the season, fanning 9 batters over 5.0 innings of work. She allowed only one hit as the Cajuns marched to a 10-0 Game 1 win via the mercy rule.

Louisiana scored two in the second and eight in the fourth, owning all the offense in Game 1, earning their 16th win of the year.

Game 2 was a different story. Three Cajun pitchers (Kristin Martinez, Christina Hamilton, Victoria Brown) worked 7 innings, giving up 12 WKU runs.

Louisiana could only muster 2 runs, leaving runners in scoring position multiple times. The loss was UL's 8th of the year.

Game 3 of the series is set for tomorrow at Lamson Park. First pitch is set for noon.
