The UL Ragin Cajun football team has been busy practicing over the past few weeks, but has it paid off? Tomorrow, the team will find out as the season opener against Lamar starts at 6:00PM.

The game is expected to be a breeze by many football analysts. The Cajuns, coming off a 9-4 season with a bowl victory at the R&L Carriers Bowl in New Orleans last year, are excited and ready for action.

The Cajuns have many of their starters coming back to play again in this season, a total of 13, including kicker Brett Baer.  Baer kicked the winning 50 yard field goal(prepare to get goosebumps again) during the R&L Carriers bowl. The Ragin Cajuns will honor the late Mickey Shunick with a special decal on their helmets.  The decal will be worn throughout the 2012 football season.

Also, fans are reminded that hurricane Isaac did cause some issues with parking for the game and that the general parking areas have now been occupied by the people who pay to tailgate. See all the details here.

When asked about tomorrow's game Coach Mark Hudspeth said,

"They got after Nichols State and beat them pretty soundly, and we struggled with Nichols in the first half. They have some outstanding players."
