Ray Nagin Corruption Trial To Begin In January

The long awaited trial for Ray Nagin is set to begin January 27, 2014. The former New Orleans Mayor was indicted on 21 charges of corruption, bribery, and fraud in January of 2013.

U.S. District Judge Ginger Berrigan has three times granted requests by Nagin's legal representatives to delay the trial, but no further delays are expected.

Nagin will soon either accept the government's offer of reduced charges in exchange for a guilty plea, or fight the charges in court.

Judge Berrigan has urged both parties to resolve the case without a trail.
