Rayne Arrests

A series of arrests in Rayne to tell you about. Rayne police say a verbal argument last night led to a shooting. The suspected shooter, Nathaniel Smith, Jr., is behind bars after a U.S. Marshall's task force located him at his home in Lake Charles.

Courtney White is in jail. Rayne police chief Carrol Stelly says officers on routine patrol observed White, who is a known drug dealer, walking in a residential neighborhood. When stopped, officers found crack cocaine on him.

And finally, Jerry Hicks is sitting in the Rayne jail. Stelly says his department received a tip Hicks was growing marijuana behind his home. A search of his residence uncovered several marijuana plants.
