A juvenile was arrested Tuesday on charges he broke into a home and stole more than $1,000 in property.

According to Chief Carrol Stelly with the Rayne Police Department, officers responded to a home in which a burglary was in progress. Witnesses said they saw two males arrive on bike and then leave with a number of items.

After conducting an investigation, Stelly says police were able to pinpoint a juvenile as a possible suspect. When they searched his home, police found the stolen items.

The juvenile was booked into the Lafayette Parish Juvenile Detention Center without bond.
