With recent vehicle fatalities happening in Iberia Parish over the past week, Sheriff Louis Ackal has released a couple of common sense tips for staying safe on the road ways, especially in this inclement weather.

• Motorists should slow their speed down while driving on wet roadways to help prevent hydroplaning.
• Create more distance between your vehicle and the vehicle traveling in front of you can help prevent a crash.

“By just using a little more attentiveness while driving in less than ideal conditions can help prevent serious injury or even protect a life,” Sheriff Ackal points out.
