Jenny Krueger, Executive Director of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra visited with 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today to invite listeners to their annual 'Red, White and Boom' 4th of July celebration.  Last year the fireworks provider had an ignition problem dampening the celebration but Krueger said,

Last year it was like 'Red, White and not quite what we hoped for' but it was an ignitor that got wet with the rain.  The pyrotechnics have assured us they are on top of the problem and we've added more fireworks to make up for last year and to make this the best 'Red, White and Boom' ever.

Describing the event this year Krueger said,

We have three experiences with three stages.  You can pick your stage and your experience or have the 'block party' experience and move from one stage to another.  We have Chubby Carrier and his band with the Acadiana Symphony on the main stage at Parc International.  Parc San Souci is everything kids and family so bring the kids for water slides, face painting, balloon activities and games.  The third stage will turn Jefferson Street into a block party next to the Jefferson Street Pub.  Gates open at 5:00pm with a $5.00 admission to benefit the Acadiana Symphony's educational programs.
