Rep. Frank Hoffman Looking To Broaden Louisiana Smoke Free Air Act

One lawmaker wants to expand on the Louisiana Smoke Free Air Act.

Rep. Frank Hoffman says he wants to ban smoking within 25 feet of any building where smoking is currently prohibited. Hoffman says many cities already have this law in place, but he wants to make it statewide.

In years past, there have been many attempts to ban smoking in bars and casinos. But Hoffman says he is not interested in doing that. He says his bill would not apply to places exempt from the Smoke Free Air Act.
