BELLE CHASSE, La. (AP) — Plaquemines Parish officials say repairs to the Port Eads marina should be completed by January 2013.

The marina, near the mouth of the Mississippi River, was heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and is being repaired using funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Completion of the work had been expected by November, but damage from Hurricane Isaac in August set back the project.

The interior of the marina is nearly completed and the piers and boardwalk to South Pass have been completed.
