A piece of legislation that would send billions of dollars in oil spill fine money to Louisiana has met a roadblock.

With a March 31st deadline looming over the US House, legislators have passed a three-month, stop-gap extension of the transportation bill. It provides funds for highway and construction projects. But the problem is the bill didn't contain RESTORE Act provisions that were contained in the Senate-passed version.

The RESTORE Act would funnel 80% of all BP Clean Water Act fines to the Gulf Coast states. It has gained bipartisan support among Louisiana legislators.
