OPELOUSAS, La. (AP) — About $4,600 in rewards are being offered for information about whoever shot a 66-year-old woman to death more than a month ago near Opelousas.

The Daily World reports that St. Landry Parish deputies who answered an alarm buzzer on Sept. 17 found the body of Marjorie Taylor in her house.

Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says the case is a top priority, and investigators welcome help from the public.

Clay Higgins with St. Landry Crime Stoppers says that as of Tuesday, rewards totaled $4,635. He says $2,500 is from Crime Stoppers and the rest is in a private fund started by Taylor's family.
