Rice Farmers Vote To Keep Research And Promotion Payments The Same

Rice farmers want to keep it the way it is. An overwhelming amount of farmers voted to keep paying a nickel for every 100 pounds of rice for research, and 3 cents per 100 pounds for promotion. 85% voted in favor of the research referendum and 72% the promotion referendum. The payments will be made over the next five years when the farmers will vote again.
