Rising Unemployment Claims

First-time unemployment claims rose 11.4 percent in Louisiana.This  increase is blamed by state labor officials on the end of the school year and employment for some workers.  The Louisiana Workforce Commission says there were 4,936 initial benefit claims for the week ending May 28. That's up from the previous week's total of 4,432.
