BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) — The cost of constructing a handful of road and utility projects designed to accommodate increased traffic from Margaritaville Resort Casino will be slightly less than Bossier City officials predicted.

On Tuesday, the Bossier City Council awarded Fessler & Bowman a $3.6 million bid for the projects; several thousand dollars below the $3.7 million estimate.

The Times reports the construction company will be tasked with putting in additional turn lanes at Texas at Traffic streets, widening River Colony Drive in some places to include two single-lane roundabouts to connect to Bass Pro Drive and a quarter-mile road to the casino called Margaritaville Way. The contract also includes installing water and sewer lines for the casino.

The work is expected to be finished in time for the casino's opening.
