The man accused of transporting nearly one million dollars worth of Cocaine on I-10 in St. Martin Parish was sentenced today. Robert Prescott got a twenty-two year prison sentence.  Fifteen years of that is without probation or parole.  Prescott also received a two-hundred and fifty dollar fine.  Prescott was stopped by State Police nearly two years ago when a trooper found twenty-one pounds of cocaine in welded compartments.

State Police trooper Stephen Hammonds tells KPEL's Suzanne Ferrara why Prescott's sentencing is so important to state police.
