Austin Robichaux allowed just three hits over 7.2 innings and Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns took advantage of some sloppy defense in the third inning to defeat Louisiana-Monroe, 5-2 Saturday afternoon before 2,333 fans at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

Louisiana (15-3, 2-0) won its fourth straight, while the Warhawks have now lost six straight.

ULM scored off Robichaux (3-0) in the second inning on back to back singles by Taylor Abdalla and Kodie Tidwell.  A Dalton Herrington ground ball plated the first run of the game and ULM led 1-0,

The Cajuns got all their runs in the third inning off losing pitcher Cale Wine (2-3).  Freshman Blake Trahan started it off with a base hit and was forced at second by Dex Kjerstad.  Wine then made an errant pickoff throw to first base, allowing Kjerstad to go to second base.  Ryan Leonards then singled behind the second base bag and Kjerstad scored when catcher Logan Fiasco dropped the throw to the plate.  After Seth Harrison struck out and Tyler Girouard was intentionally walked,  Leonards stole third and scored on an errant throw by Fiasco, the third ULM error of the inning.  Michael Strentz then delivered a two out single to left, and first baseman Chase Compton followed with his second homer in as many games to give the Cajuns a 5-0 lead.

That was more than enough for Robichaux, who allowed only a sixth inning single by Corben Green after the second inning.  Robichaux did not walk a batter, but hit back to back batters with two out in the eighth.  Matt Hicks came in and got Abdalla looking at a third strike to end the threat.

ULM scored in the ninth on a single, a balk, and a double by second baseman Jeff Fuller.

Louisiana goes for the three game sweep tomorrow at 1pm  Left hander Cody Boutte (3-0) gets the start for the Cajuns while ULM will counter with lefty Alex Dumaine (1-0).
