There really is no place like home.

And "home" for Tom Benson was New Orleans, so it was only fitting that a second line began in the 7th ward neighborhood that he grew up in. Even more fitting was the second line wrapping up at the feet of his statue outside of the Superdome—the home of his beloved New Orleans Saints.

When the news of Benson's death broke late last afternoon it wasn't long until rumors began floating around social media of a second line to pay tribute to the Saints-Pelicans owner.

At approximately 7 p.m. those rumors took shape as hundreds showed up in the 7th ward.

Participants marched as others joined in along the way in pure New Orleans fashion as the second line ended with a rousing rendition of 'When The Saints Go Marching In' beneath the statue honoring Benson outside of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The future of the Saints-Pelicans ownership may be uncertain, but for now, fans are honoring Benson in pure New Orleans fashion.
