Saints Place Jairus Byrd on PUP List

The New Orleans Saints big money acquisition this off-season was safety Jairus Byrd. Sean Payton said Friday that Byrd has been placed on Physically Unable to Perform list.

He underwent back surgery over the summer and has already missed most of the team’s workouts. Payton believes he’ll be working out with the team before they depart training camp in West Virginia in mid August.

Byrd signed a 6 year, 56 million dollar contract with the Saints.
