The New Orleans Saints plan to place receiver Joe Morgan on waivers, meaning his days with the franchise have likely come to an end.

The 26-year old Morgan, who began the year on the suspended list, played in five games this season, catching four passes for 92 yards.

After his first stop at Illinois, Morgan finished his collegiate career at Walsh College.

An undrafted free agent in 2011, Morgan signed with the Saints, before suffering a knee injury and being put on injured reserve.

In 2012 Morgan made the Saints’ roster, and caught 10 passes for 379 yards, along with three touchdowns.

Prior to the start of the 2013 season Morgan suffered a torn ACL and spent the entire season on injured reserve.

Earlier this season, in a game against the Baltimore Ravens, Morgan caught a 62-yard pass, also had a 67-yard run making him the only player in the NFL this season who has both a catch and a run of more than 60 yards.

Over his career, which has spanned only 14 games, Morgan has accumulated 10 receptions for 379 yards and three touchdowns, while averaging 33.6 yards-per-catch.
