The New Orleans Saints let go of a player on Sunday who spent the last four seasons on their roster.

The 26-year old Coleman had not participated in training camp while on the active/physically unable to perform list with an undisclosed injury.

In addition, the Saints re-signed tight end John Phillips, who spent parts of the last two seasons with the team.

After playing his college football at Rutgers, Coleman signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent, following the 2014 NFL Draft.

A native of Accokeek, Maryland, Coleman spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad, before appearing in all 48 games over the past three seasons.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Coleman had his best season in 2015, when he caught 30 passes for 454 yards and two touchdowns.

In his career with the Saints, Coleman accumulated 79 catches for 1,099 yards and eight touchdowns.

The 31-year old Phillips, who visited the Saints on Friday, prior to signing on Sunday, has played for four teams in his eight-year NFL career, most recently with the Saints in 2016 and 2017.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Phillips played on only one game for the Saints last season, after catching 5 passes for 32 yards in 8 games during the 2016 campaign.
