The New Orleans Saints released linebacker Lamar Louis from their practice squad on Tuesday.

A native of Breaux Bridge, and a former high school player for the Breaux Bridge Tigers, Louis was an LSWA Class 4A All-State honorable mention selection in 2011.

Louis went on to play his college football at LSU from 2012-2015, where he played in 48 games, including 17 starts, while compiling 97 tackles, including 3.5 for loss, with two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.

After going undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft, Louis signed with the Arizona Cardinals, but severed a quad strain opening week against the New England Patriots, forcing the Cardinals to put him on injured reserved. He was released six days later.

The 5-foot-11, 232-pound Louis was signed to the Saints' practice squad on November 1, before being released on Tuesday.
