The New Orleans Saints have found their new defensive line coach.

After playing his college football at USC, where he was an All-Pac-10 selection as a sophomore, Nielsen began his coaching career at Idaho in 2004, before becoming the defensive line coach at Ole Miss from 2005-2007, and then the defensive coordinator at Central Connecticut St. from 2008-2009.

The 38-year old Nielsen then had stops as an assistant at Tennessee Martin (2010) and Northern Illinois (2011-2012), prior to joining the North Carolina St. staff in 2013.

A native of Los Angeles, Nielsen helped the North Carolina St. defense to compile 37 sacks, which ranked 22nd at the FBS level, after finishing with 32 sacks in 2015, which ranked 31st.
