The New Orleans Saints, looking to upgrade specials teams for the 2017 season, took a step towards doing that, by re-signing one of their own.

The deal is reportedly worth $2.6 million.

The 27-year old Banjo, who was a restricted free agent, appeared in seven games for the Saints a year ago, after signing a one-year deal on November 14.

In 120 special teams snaps, Banjo recorded five tackles.

A native of Houston, Texas, Banjo  entered the league in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Methodist with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He joined the Packers after being waived by Jacksonville, and then spent three seasons and part of the 2016 campaign with the Green Bay Packers.

Banjo, a native of Houston, Texas, has accumulated 43 career tackles parts of 4 NFL seasons.
