The New Orleans Saints made a few roster moves on Monday, waiving receiver Kyle Prater and defensive tackle Lawrence Virgil, while signing linebacker Chris Young and tight end Michael Egnew.

Prater, who played his college football at USC and Northwestern, was trying to make the squad an undrafted free agent, while Virgil, who was waived with an injury designation, meaning he can be placed on the injured reserve list if he clears waivers, spent most of last season on the Saints' practice squad, prior to be signed to the active roster late in the season.

Young, a 6-foot, 252-pound linebacker, spent a portion of 2014 on the New York Jets practice squad. The Arizona St. product failed to make the Houston Texans roster after being signed as an undrafted free agent last year.

The 25-year old Egnew was a third round draft choice of the Miami Dolphins in 2012. The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder caught seven passes for 69 yards in 2013, but has since been waived by both the Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
