After a disappointing start in Louisiana's big football weekend with both the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and the LSU Tigers falling to their opponents Saturday night, the New Orleans Saints were the state's last shot at redemption.

The Saints took an early start, leading the Rams 35-17 at the half. This score was after notable touchdowns by Benjamin Watson, Alvin Kamara, and rookie Tre'Quan Smith.

The Rams, however, had other things in mind.

After the half, the Rams immediately started scoring bringing them up 10 points by the end of the 3rd quarter making the score 35-27.

The Rams were able to tie up the game at the beginning of the 4th quarter with Rams wide receiver, Cooper Kupp taking a pass from Jared Goff resulting in a Rams touchdown. This play was followed by a successful 2-point-conversion attempt caught by Rams tight end, Gerald Everett

The Saints' following drive resulted in a 54-yard field goal by Saints kicker, Wil Lutz.

Up by three, the Saints had to hold the Rams to a field goal at most if they wanted to make it out of the game victorious. And so they did, while also adding an additional 72-yard touchdown pass caught by Micheal Thomas.

Thomas celebrated his win by pulling out a cell phone from under the goalpost after the end of the play.

The game ended with the Saints taking a 45-35 victory over the Rams.

This game will be the first loss of the Ram's season.

The Saints are currently on a 7-game winning streak.

They are ready to keep this momentum in next week's matchup against the Bengals.
