Students attending Lafayette Parish Schools in Broussard and Youngsville may see some zoning changes for the upcoming school year.

According to our news partner KATC, the Lafayette Parish School Board will vote June 17th on a proposal to rezone schools in the area.

School Board members hosted a standing-room-only crowd Wednesday night at the Brooussard Community Center to discuss with parents what changes the rezoning process would make.

Under the proposal, Green T. Lindon and Youngsville Middle would be rezoned to Katherine Drexel  and Broussard Middle.

Though some parents adamantly objected to moving students, some requested, that if the proposal does pass, the school board should allow an additional school year to adjust to the changes.
