School Closures For Friday

The rain event may be over, and high waters may be receding, but some school officials are still taking precautions to protect their students.Only the schools listed on here will be closed Friday. Here is a list of school closures for Friday:

Acadia Parish

All Acadia Parish public schools are closed due to widespread flooding.

The following private schools will be closed:

• Redemptorist Catholic
• St. Francis School
• Notre Dame High School
• St. Michael's Elementary School
• Rayne Catholic School
• Our Mother of Peace School in Church Point

Evangeline Parish

All Evangeline Parish public schools will be closed due to poor road conditions. Central office staff, media employees, principals, and custodians should report to work.

The following private schools will be closed:

• Christian Heritage Academy in Ville Platte

Jeff Davis Parish

All Jeff Davis parish public schools will remain closed.

The following private schools will be closed:

• Bethel Christian School
• Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School

Lafayette Parish

The following private schools will be closed:

• Family Life Christian Academy

St. Landry Parish

All St. Landry Parish public schools are closed due to high water and student safety.

The following private schools will be closed:

• Westminster Christian Academy (All Campuses closed)
• Opelousas Catholic
• St. Edmund Catholic School in Eunice
• Word of Life Christian Academy in Eunice
• Good Shepherd Montessori School in Port Barre
• JS Clark Academy in Opelousas

Vermilion Parish -All schools will be open except for Forked Island - E. Broussard Elementary School.  There is no access to the school, so it will be closed.
