A 26-year-old Scott Man (identified as both Jeremy and Edward Mouton in the press release) now sits in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center after he allegedly rode a horse into Cowboy's Saloon and used a lasso to "rope" a 47-year-old man.

Scott Police Chief Chad Leger says, shortly after midnight, Mouton, who was highly intoxicated, rode the horse into the bar, causing a major disturbance. Chief Leger says Mouton then left the bar and rode withing the 200 block of N. Ambassador Caffery Parkway before going back inside the bar and roping the victim, dragging the man throughout the parking lot from the horse.

Police say Mouton then returned the horse to his parent's home on Renaud Drive and returned to the bar on foot. Authorities say he then tried to hide behind some newly manufactured trailers as officers attempted to take him in.

Once in police custody, Mouton allegedly threatened to retaliate against officers off-duty. He's now in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. He faces three counts of Disturbing the Peace and one count each of Second Degree Battery, Public Intimidation and Retaliation and Remaining after being forbidden.
