Police in Lafayette arrested a suspect in the act after he allegedly burglarized multiple vehicles Sunday evening.

Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton said they found the suspect, 18-year-old Anthony Tessling of Scott, leaving the garage of a home on Wind Haven Lane.

Mouton said officers found Tessling with property burglarized from several vehicles. While at the correctional center, Mouton said Tessling tried to flee from officers.

Tessling is charged with two counts of car burglary, four counts of attempted car burglary, one count of simple burglary, and simple escape.

The case remains under investigation.
