A 22-year-old Scott man is in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on drunk driving charges following an early morning crash.

According to Scott Police Chief Chad Leger, Sean Littleton failed to stop at a stop sign at Dulles Drive and Le Violon. Littleton drove through a ditch, struck a fence, and then crashed into a tree. Neither Littleton and his passenger were injured, but police said it was obvious Littleton was drunk.

When they asked him for the vehicle information, Leger said Littleton became "highly argumentative and agitated," requiring officers to detain him. Littleton eventually submitted to a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer. Police said he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.22.

Littleton is charged with OWI second offense, resisting an officer, and careless operation with a crash.
