A Texas driver failed to yield at the traffic signal at the intersection of Ambassador Caffery and Eraste Landry Road last night causing a crash that took a Scott man’s life.

Lafayette traffic investigators say 46-year-old Alfredo Tierrablanca has been charged with OWI, vehicular homicide and failure to obey a traffic signal.  Police say Tierrablanca ignored the traffic light and hit 24-year-old Daniel Short’s car.  Short was taken  to a hospital, but pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
