Scott Police arrested a man for allegedly strangling his live-in girlfriend.

According to Scott Police Chief Chad Leger, 35-year-old David Kissel returned from work Monday to find his girlfriend visiting with an "unwanted guest" in the home.

"Mr. Kissel became aggressive towards the guest and engaged in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend, which became physical when he pinned the girlfriend down against living room furniture and began choking her," Leger said.

The couple's 2-year-old daughter was in the room during the altercation, Leger said.

Kissel was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on charges of domestic abuse battery with strangulation and child endangerment.
