A former Scott police officer is being accused of using a police department credit card to purchase more than $3,500 worth of gas for he and his wife's personal vehicles.

According to our news partner KATC, 43-year-old Larry Williams was terminated from the police department following an investigation into excessive use of the department's Fuelman card.

Police department records reveled Williams used the card for more than 90 unauthorized gas purchases from July 2013 to June 9, 2015.

The internal investigation findings were turned over to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office for the criminal investigation. He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail Wednesday on charges of felony unauthorized use of an access card and malfeasance in office. His bond was set at $10,000.
