The Scott Police Department reports that officers arrested 35-year-old Syrena Arcides after the woman allegedly fired in the direction of her child's father.

Officers were told that Arcides walked out of her home in the 100 block of Gena Marie in Scott and allegedly fired at a man standing near her home.

Policce says the man, who is also the father of her child, was hit with pellets from the shotgun in the upper torso area and face.

The man's injuries were not life-threatening, and the man refused medical treatment.

Arcides says the man's new girlfriend was there, and that's what lead to the domestic dispute.

The woman was arrested on the following charges:

  • Attempted second degree murder
  • Illegal use of a firearm
  • Aggravated criminal damage to property

Police say a nearby car got hit by some of the gunshot pellets.
