Scott Woman Reports Car Stolen, Arrested For Filing False Report
A Scott woman is facing jail time after she lied to police about her car being stolen.
Scott Police Chief Chad Leger said 23-year-old Marla Rushing reported her car stolen Friday morning. Police found the vehicle a short time later on Galbert Road, but after they're investigation, they determined the car was not actually stolen.
After bringing Rushing to the police department to confront her about the evidence, she admitted to crashing her car in the ditch on Galbert Road after which she hitched a road home and reported the vehicle as stolen.
Rushing is charged with criminal mischief.
