Sean And Beth Payton File Divorce Papers

Sean Payton is divorcing his wife, and apparently the feeling is mutual. After nearly 20 years of marriage, Sean and Beth Payton have filed dueling divorce petitions in Texas.
Sean filed for divorce in Tarrant County District Court on June 14 and Beth filed a counter petition on June 26. Sean’s filing lists the grounds as “discord or conflict of personalities” and seeks to divide the couple’s assets and provide for joint custody of their two children. Beth’s counter petition requests that she receive exclusive rights to designate the children’s primary residence and make other decisions on their behalf.
The Paytons have been living in the Fort Worth suburb of Westlake since 2011, a move that at the time worried New Orleans Saints fans that Coach Payton would eventually go back to the Dallas Cowboys, a team where he once served as the offensive coordinator. He has been suspended for the upcoming 2012 season for his alleged involvement in the Saints’ bounty system for defensive players.
