Sears And K-Mart Closings Have La. Officials’ Attention

Two national stores closing shop have state retail analysts taking notice. Sears Holding Corporation says it will close between 100 and 120 Sears and K-Mart stores after a bad holiday sales season. Now there's been no word if any stores will be closing in Louisiana; the company hasn't announced locations yet. Retail analyst Jim Rutledge says both stores suffered losses in their customer base in recent years either from lackluster service, poor locations or non-competitive pricing.
