Second Grambling Student Dies After I-20 Crash
GRAMBLING, La. (AP) — A second Grambling State University student has died from injuries sustained in a Thursday night crash on Interstate 20 near Ruston.
State police say 25-year-old Andrew Perkins, of Shreveport, died Sunday morning.
Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 11:30 p.m. Thursday on I-20 about 12 miles west of Ruston.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a car, driven by 25-year-old Michael Hubbard Jr. of Shreveport, was eastbound on I-20 when it crossed the median and struck an 18-wheeler.
Hubbard, who was to graduate Friday with a degree in nursing from GSU, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers other passengers in the car were injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
