Second Man Convicted In Death Of Cab Driver

22-year-old Kevin Gildhouse has been found guilty for his role in the 2009 killing and armed robbery of a cab driver.

A jury in Lafayette Parish returned a unanimous guilty verdict against Gildhouse, who’s charged with accessory after the fact to second degree murder and armed robbery.

Wallace “Wally” Badeaux, a cabdriver for Dixie Cab Company, was shot to death on February 23, 2009.

Gildhouse will serve an automatic life sentence plus an additional five years stemming from his plea prior to the trial on one charge of simple escape.

Gildhouse’s conviction follows the August 15 conviction of 22-year-old Aaron Francois, who, along with Gildhouse, was charged in the incident. Francois was convicted of second-degree felony murder on a 10-2 decision from the jury.
