A second arrest has been made in connection with a New Year's Day shooting in New Iberia.

Deputies from the Sheriff's Office tell us they've arrested a 16-year-old and charged him with second degree murder. He's being held at the St. James Juvenile Detention Center.

This comes just a couple days after police arrested 19-year-old Jarvis Tessier for the same crime.

Police say a New Iberia man had been shot in the head Sunday, but he was treated for injuries and released from a hospital the same day.
