Senator Bill Cassidy defended portions of the Graham-Cassidy Bill that is widely seen as a last-ditch effort to repeal Obamacare by Republicans in Washington. The healthcare debate has been ongoing for years, but things bubbled up again with this week's criticism of the bill by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on ABC.

Cassidy and Kimmel notoriously coined the term "The Kimmel Test" when talking about families who are currently covered under the Affordable Care Act or "Obamacare". Earlier this year, Kimmel's son was born with a heart defect, which forced him to face the healthcare issue head on. His assertion was that if a family does not have the financial resources his does, the only safety net would be Obamacare.

Kimmel has cited the numerous medical associations who have come out in opposition to the Graham-Cassidy bill.
