Sentencing For Ex-Police Official In Shreveport Today

A former Shreveport official will be sentenced today after being charged and convicted with rape and abuse of office. Rick Seaton, who was the assistant chief administrative officer for the city at the time, took a drunken 18 year old woman, who was distraught over her boyfriend being arrested, to the mayors office where he then proceeded to taken advantage of her.

The penalty for rape is 5 to 40 years and abuse of office is 1 to 5 years in prison.
