Some changes are on the way for the city of Scott as they will be moving north.

Planning manager Pat Logan says the city plans to start a $ 1.2 million project extending their water and sewer services to areas north of Interstate 10.

There have been multiple developments around the sound side corridor of I-10 near the Scott exit.  The lack of water lines and a frontage road on the north side has kept more growth from happening in that area.

Logan says plans are in the works for the 44-acre Destination Pointe commercial development at the northwest corner of the I-10 interchange at the Scott exit, and he says that's one of the biggest reasons for Scott to want to offer water and sewer services for that development.
