I guess it's a sign of the times. The popular, long running children's show, "Sesame Street" will introduce a homeless character. The New York Daily News reports, the character is "Lily." Her family has lost their home and she's forced to stay with friends on Sesame Street. Lily made her first appearance in 2011, addressing childhood hunger.

“We know children experiencing homelessness are often caught up in a devastating cycle of trauma. We want to help disrupt that cycle by comforting children, empowering them, and giving them hope for the future. We want them to know that they are not alone, and home is more than a house or an apartment – home is wherever the love lives.”      - Sherrie Westin, president of Global Impact and Philanthropy, Sesame Workshop.

It saddens me to think this is any child's daily reality.
