This week's St. Landry Parish Crime Stoppers video led to one arrest with tips submitted for two others.

Crime Stoppers spokesman Maj. Eddie Thibodeaux reported 55-year-old David W. Joseph, of Lafayette, contacted authorities after he saw himself featured on the video.

Joseph surrendered to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Unit at 11 a.m. Thursday. Joseph was arrested on the following charges:

  • Failure to Register as Sex Offender Post Incarceration
  • Sex Offender ID Required

The video featured three other fugitives wanted for various crimes, from burglary to livestock theft. Guidroz said Crime Stoppers received four tips on two of the other fugitives featured on the video.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank the news media outlets for airing such a great program as Crime Stoppers," said Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. "Working together through Crime Stoppers, law enforcement, news media outlets and of course the tipsters, we can make our neighborhoods a safer place to raise our kids and to live.”
