A federal fugitive wanted for sex trafficking has been caught in St. Landry Parish.

Wednesday night, Spokesman Sgt. Clay Higgins with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says officers pulled over a vehicle on US 190 at LA 103 just west of Port Barre for a traffic violation. He says the occupants inside the vehicle told deputies they were traveling to New Orleans, La. from Las Vegas, NV.

Despite several false documents and ID cards being presented to them, Sgt. Higgins says deputies were able to identify LaQuentin Brown, AKA "Nino," who was arrested and is currently waiting extradition by U.S. Marshals. There is an active federal warrant for sex trafficking for Brown.
