The planning for Lafayette's Central Park has moved into Phase II with the start of the second round of public forums. But if you aren't able to be there in real time, the group coordinating the effort to gather input from the community is opening the discussion online.

Beginning Wednesday, November 20th, anyone interested in doing so will be able to take the survey through the Lafayette Central Park (LCP) website. The "Take the Survey" option will be open through Monday, November 25th.

Many general ideas have been gleaned from the first round of forums: an amphitheater or open area performing arts area, a botanical gardens, a children's play area, an access to the Vermilion River for kayaking or canoeing. Organizers now want to hone in on exactly what specifically the public would like these areas to be and how big a part they want them to encompass in the overall landscape of the horse farm property.

As of right now (2:00 on Tuesday, November 19th), there are five more public forums for people to attend:

Tuesday, November 19th

6pm -8pm South Regional Library

Wednesday, November 20

11am -1pm South Regional Library
6pm – 8pm Petroleum Club Ballroom

Thursday, November 21

11am – 1pm Rosa Parks Transportation Center
6pm – 8pm Martin Luther King Center

Again, if you are unable to physically attend any of the forums, you are more than welcome to "Take the Survey" at the LPC website between Wednesday and Monday.
