A company hired by Gov. bobby Jindal to help Louisiana deal with the BP disaster may have over billed the state.

The Shaw Group was hired to build $250-million worth of sand berms along the Gulf of Mexico, to block oil from the BP Macondo well. A report from the state legislative auditor shows about $495,000 worth of invoices either should not have been paid or should be paid only with more documentation from Shaw. The audit found problems with bills for material and equipment, travel charges and reimbursable expenses.
