Shawn Long is one of the most dominant big men to ever play for the Ragin' Cajuns, and he's quickly making a name for himself as a pro baller.

Right now, Long is earning a lot of respect in the D-League, playing for the Delaware 87ers. He is averaging a double-double (20.6 ppg, 11.2 rpg) this season, and now he's getting an invitation to play in the D-League All-Star Game.

Six of the players on the All-Star roster already earned themselves call-ups to the NBA, and Long could be getting a call soon too if he keeps playing like this.

His former coach thinks he could be at the next level sooner rather than later. Louisiana Head Coach Bob Marlin noticed Long's All-Star selection and made sure to give him some praise.

"He has continued to improve, and it's just a matter of time before he gets a call-up," Marlin said.

Long will play for the East All-Stars and play for former NBA star Jerry Stackhouse, who is currently a coach for the Raptors 905. The game will air on NBA TV on February 18th (2:30 pm) from New Orleans, so you can watch Long on the TV or make the trip to New Orleans to show your support.

Eight players off last year's All-Star roster found their way onto NBA teams in 2016, and six more joined them this year. If everything works out, Long will be next.
