Two more individuals have thrown their hat into the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's race.

According to our news partner KATC, John P. Rogers and Mark T. Garber have entered the race to replace Mike Neustrom who announced he will not run for reelection in this fall's election. The two men join Scott Chief of Police Chad Leger as contenders for the top law enforcement role in the parish.

According to the "John P. Rogers for Sheriff" Facebook page, he is a 15-year deputy with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office. He also has a law degree from the Southern University Law Center.

KATC confirmed that Garber has most recently served as an assistant district attorney with the 15th Judicial District.
